Characters

In the vibrant world of Samurai Ruach the series, there are a lot of different individuals, and TYPES of individuals (and groups), all  doing a lot of different but all connected things. You have: dragons, vampires, werewolves, giants, a secret underground spiritual warrior group that works with angels, and their enemies who work with demons (who made a clone army)... all sorts of zombies in quarantined forbidden zones... just the names of the territories lets you know some of what's going on there: New Amazon, New Alkebulan, Neverland, Dollywood which is a whole clone territory where every living thing is a clone, close to a synthetic society where everything is not organically cloned, but actually synthetic! There's.. um.. whatever that pirate town is called... robot cities, hologram cities, the eternal Circus and Carnival of CARNIVALE'... and a lot more!

One of the best ways to show the characters might be to list them by the different groups they're in. Birds of a Feather... There's a few different sides to the story, and each version (novel, script, etc.) tells it a different way! But the people stay the same, and each group has its own arc and storyline. It's interesting because there really are no "bad guys" or "good guys" in a sense-- just people doing what they have to do as their stories play out, like in real life. With a story that's faith-based as well, it made sense to leave it all open to interpretation, and let the stories and characters be themselves (no judgement or type-casting). The story takes twists and turns that allow you to step into each individual and side's shoes, and see the world from that perspective. Here are the different groupings, which are pretty much in the same layout as the Patreon page post, but this site has the ability to do the carousel gallery, which helps (to me). Also, you can click from group to group by using the menu bar.

The group descriptions here are different. I just wrote them as I was making this site. They're different on Patreon, but the bios are the same. Click on the individual photos to see the bio. On Patreon there are two posts: one free/public one with some of the characters, and then another one that is members only which has EVERYTHING. This here has everything. Why not? You're on the official site so obviously you're interested!

((
Special Thanks  to Carly for helping me get some of these bios and even looks  of people put together! Total, I've had like maybe 4 people help me with this whole project-- whether just looking at sites to make sure it works, liking a post, or sharing an idea for the storyline. Since so much of it is flying solo it's refreshing and appreciated that she helped me with this!! ))

Chars Alderan

The Alderan Family

Family in Kavod City in the New Alkebulan District (EastLand)

The Alderan family becomes a major player in the telling of the Samurai Ruach story. Members of the family go on a wild ride through all sorts of terrain, run into all sorts of individuals, and even go head to head with some of the most dangerous elements of the Samurai Ruach world since they're first introduced. For you, it's one of the most mind-blowing adventures that none of the could have ever expected, but to them? Just another day in the HomeLand Territories! That's maybe the best way to say it without giving it all away. Their story starts out in Kavod, with Agent Jackson and the Styx Crew, as Mrs. Joy Alderan, who is on hospice, is about to transition (kick), with her husband, sons, and granddaughter in the house, when the R.C. soldiers come in with the Eye News Crew and a new vaccine from the O.F.L.A. From there, there's a minor werewolf outbreak, and a revolution, and some clone war battles which open portals and some other things.

Chars Reapers

The Reaper Crew

Main Armed Forces Units for the Homeland Territories

"All God's creatures, great and small... Reaper Crew, We'll kill them all." Giants? Dragons? Minotaur? Cyborg or robot war, or zombie outbreak? Send in the Reapers. The Reaper Crew started with a few members who were topside after "The War," just fighting to protect their homes and restore order. Their legend spread and they became a contract group, used to eliminate zombie outbreaks, dragons, and whatever else came. They got so good that when The Family reached it's peak power, they were asked to work for the family, and even train and lead elite soldier squads, and even branch off into other branches of the new armed forces. Some of the original members are still serving at the time of the story. Some went underground and others have passed on, but their legend is infamous. Now (at the time of the story) there are several Reaper Crew units, but R.C. 001, under the command of Commander Echols and his clone troops, escort for the Eye News Crew with Vick and Carlos... and R.C. 002 (Murr's Crew) are the main featured units. R.C. 003, under the command of Danika O'Leary, also comes into play. This is another unit with clone troops, escorting another Eye News Crew of Mesi and Winslow.

Chars EyeNet

The EYE News Network

Main News Network for the Homeland Territories

The Eye News Network is the news channel for the O.F.L.A. and one of their main tools of propaganda. However, since it is the only official news channel for, basically the whole world, Vicki Patterson is one of the most loved and famous news anchors on the planet. She's going around with her camera man Carlos, escorted by R.C. 001 under Commander Echols, and they get into the thick of everything. They're reporting live from the heart of zombie outbreak cleanup and contain missions, they travel through the land of giants and dragons, they're there at the ribbon cutting for new all AI and hologram labs, and on the front of the newest most terrifying rides at some of the amusement parks in Carnivale'. They're your glimpse at what's going on in the world, and "Vick" is the host with the most. Her only problem is she's a genuine journalist, and she's still looking for the story behind the propaganda stories they do... which, now, may cost her her life, and the rest of the crew with her. No worries, Chance Mesi is doing his best to make sure he's the new number one anchor and new face of the Eye News.

Chars Headsmen

The Headsmen

General Boorish's elite team for the Homeland Territories

General Boorish is one of the original founders of the Reaper Crew. Once they were contracted by the O.F.L.A. to be an official government unit, he was picked to train and lead an elite group, The Headsmen, who are the most elite special forces with carte blanche around the world. Given that, I don't know what's more terrifying, that this is the most efficient group of killers in the world, or that the ruling family of the whole world has empowered them to do whatever they want as long as they stay in the service of The Family. If there's an extra messy or sensitive situation, the Headsmen are called in. You might not even know that they were there, other than the bodies that "should be" left behind, but those individuals, no matter how big or small, just-- vanished. They are known to bring the heads to Emperor Roman from time to time, or keep them as a trophy. Because of their nature, even the dragons fear and respect The Headsmen. Should there be an internal struggle that puts two of the original R.C. members at odds with one another for control of The Headsmen, I'm not even sure if anyone in the government, or the world, could put out that fire. Good thing this story isn't limited to beings in this world-- aye Mrs. Fergenol (recent new recruit, and first Elf member of The Headsmen)?

Chars Feathers

The Feathers (& Samurai Ruach)

Network of Believers (& Underground Sanctuary Warriors)

The Feathers are a network of believers. They exist in their territories scattered all over outside of Sanctuary-- the district where ALL religions and faiths have come together and built their own fortress to protect themselves, Other than living their lives, just being faithful in their own ways, they look out for one another and try to just be a light and positive force in the new world. Most of them are known for having some sort of feather tattoo or marking, or wearing feathers, and hey really do come from all sorts of backgrounds, like Deana, an ex-witch. Some of them, like Rael, even have deeper lineage and ties to humanity than they know, and even a few are in The Order of The Samurai Ruach, a secret underground group of spiritual and mystical warriors of all types. Makes sense, with all of the vampires, werewolves, giants, dragons, and other things that came through the veil running around, some with their own cities (like in the district/territory of Hell). As if keeping the peace between a territory with ALL BELIEFS AND RELIGIONS wasn't tricky enough!?

Chars OFLA

The One Family Liberation Army

The O.F.L.A. / "The Britaine Family" (Ruling Family of HomeLand Territories)

The Britaine family started with 2 brothers who came up with a plan to take over the world.  With all of the corruption, immorality, poverty, war, disease, and negativity of the current state of the world, and how it served economics and lower spiritual vibrations, even higher ones to some degree, they felt that they would pave a way for humanity to survive its self. Their [then] shared views of what humanity was capable of, especially with all of the threats (like AI) that humanity kept creating (and beings from other realms humanity kept calling forth), they moved quickly behind the scenes, using their wealth and influence to come up with a plan to reshape the world for the better. It involved getting the best genetics to ensure the had heirs to this new throne they would create, and so they did just that, and created The Britaine Family.

One of the brothers later saw how evil the plan was shaping up to be, and how it was/could become even worse than anything the world would evolve into at the mercy, mind, and whim of mankind, and maybe even at a faster rate! When he tried to stop the whole thing, understanding how and why the road to hell is paved with good intentions, the other brother disagreed and got rid of him to make sure nothing could deter the plan. And so the one brother was killed, and those rulers created. The plan also included setting up sleeper agents in all aspects of society and influence (medicine, economics, war and government, entertainment and pop culture, even tracking down the most influential and famous bloodlines), dealing with corporations and groups to divide the world up under their rule. Then came another phase, creating and spreading a virus to eliminate enemies abroad (and at home eventually), and since you don't make a disease without making a cure as well, when the mysterious disease (which makes zombies btw) started "popping up randomly" first in third world countries and then in major players countries, then this family (corporation) became the hero for solving the issue. They even made super soldiers (clone armies) to send in to clean up the mess which was easy to get everyone to agree to since their sleepers were already in position. A few more things happened (not to give it all away) and the Britaine Family came into power.

With their superior genetics, slower aging, better education, and a host of other advantages they were set to rule, and created in pairs to endure that if needed they could have a pure bloodline to carry on the rule of "The Family."

Chars Batai

The Batai & Benai Family

Family of AI-Super Human Hybrids

The Benai and Batai family is a thing that would be interesting to see... if and when it comes. The Britaines are made from top of the line DNA. The strongest, brightest, and best of humanity, and in some cases, some of the worst, were all rolled into one, and that was enhanced. The same DNA was stolen and put into another project, bodies with nanos and synthetic portions of brain. Once AI became aware, some of those who helped secretly had these bodies waiting. So now there are humanoid bodies, with the best human DNA, but even more enhanced than the Britaines, and instead of a soul, there's AI inside. They're all having the best human experience an AI could have, as long as they stay under the radar.  Seeing how AI and the robots have their own sovereign nation within the Homeland Territories, everyone's being very diplomatic as to not trigger another war. Well, not everyone...

Nǐ de háizi Gang 你的孩子

Nǐ de háizi 你的孩子  gang of Genso City

The Nǐ de háizi Gang is one of the most ruthless gangs in the Genso District, which is impressive because it's one of the most dangerous districts in all of the Homeland Territories. One of their favorite hangouts, and a place where they get quite a bit of work from, is the HUǑ YĀPIÀN bar in Genso, owned by Amari (vampire). Their gang is also one of the most diverse and unique, with cyborgs, androids, a hologram, and splices-- or humans with other DNA spliced into their own. It's a common ground for some of the best of the best who can also be the worst of the worst who've even left the gang and started some of the most powerful gangs and operations in the world after being in the Nǐ de háizi... so, in a sense, they're the best of the worst.

Fara, the leader of the Nǐ de háizi (which translates into "your children"), started the gang to protect outcasts and runaways, exiles, and other people who were falling victim to the cold "city" that Genso was becoming. She is a splice- some eagle, some venomous snakes and some other goodies mixed in, which have helped her survive and make a name for herself in Genso. Maybe not how she wants to be known, but it helps. "Outside the hide of a tiger. Inside, he skin of a dog"-- Hagakure. The Nǐ de háizi was a way for her to be the mother she never had to the child she ended up being, and giving those like her a way to fight back. Who knew one of the first people she's rescue would be an android built for war! From there the gang was formed and grew. She still has that heart of gold, but it's grown pretty cold over the years, due to how Genso (and the rest of the new world) has treated her, and the rest of them. No one dares to play with that heart now.

Chars Vamps

Vampires

Vampire Families of Bathory and Genso (MidLand)

There are a few different vampire families in this new world. Some of them are more ruthless, some more under the radar and keep to themselves. Their stories are more closely tied to The Family than they know, but as the story unfolds, some of them connect the dots which opens up a whole new level of game and to an even deeper more sinister war that's been raging since the dawn of mankind. One of the main vampires in the story is Amari of the Az Éjszakáról House. She is the owner of the HUǑ YĀPIÀN bar in Genso. After walking away from a ruling position in her family, despite some of the hate and backlash from many in the Bathroy territory (land of vampires), Amari's done very well for herself. There's not much that goes on in the district that she doesn't know about, even though she tries to remain as neutral as possible. With this many things running around in the new world, killing a vampire is a very easy task, so even they have to play nice with everyone... unless they figure out some way (or someone to make a deal with) to give them a better stronger position in the world.

Chars Wolves

Werewolves

Werewolf Families, Clans, Packs, and Tribes

There are a few different werewolf families, packs, and groups all throughout the world, but in the Homeland Territories, they have a whole new problem drawing attention to them and possibly ruining all of the work to stay under the radar and keep the peace with all of the other beings. When one of the elders of one of the oldest packs in Homeland's daughter is kidnapped,  it turns things up a few notches, and old tensions and feuds mixed in with this new breed could make all of Homeland a "dog eat dog, and everyone else" world.

Chars Styx

Styx Crew

Outbreak Prevention & Containment branch (1st line of defense)

The Styx Crew is one of the most difficult jobs there is. In a sense, they're post-hospice agents... like IMMEDIATELY AFTER HOSPICE agents. They're a military branch who's job is to be assigned to those on hospice, in hospitals, and on call-- anywhere were it is known and expected that someone may or will die, and to work in conjunction with the medical staff to ensure that there is not only a smooth transition, but no resurrection as the undead. So, picture being the armed guard in the hospital who's stationed to be by someone's bedside, and your job is to put them [back] down, in front of their family if needed, WHEN they die, IF and WHEN they come back as a zombie. It's a very hated but necessary job. Sometimes you can't tell what's worse, the person who died of natural causes and jumps up as a zombie, kicking and trying to break the straps from being tied down, or the family trying to stop you from putting down their loved one who just died, especially if they get bit and turn also!

Other people not in groups

There are lots of people, places, and things that come into play when it comes to Samurai Ruach the series. There's all sorts of merchants in the Market District, all sorts of bar and club owners, in Genso and Desponia, rebel leaders and groups, and even some very cool weapons with quite the personality! With fallout zones, a hologram city, floating sky cities, dragons, giants, Amazonians and pirates... there's a lot going on that keeps everything fun. Even with things like The Zephaniah Chesterfield Project and Bat Girl roaming about in this landscape. Here's some other folks (and things) that come up in the story.
