The Homeland Territories

batgirl us map copy.jpg

So, to help paint the picture a little more here's more detail on the setting/landscape that this all takes place in. SPOILER ALERT as they say... but maybe not for this series, but for some of the other ones that this series comes from that I'm working on as well. I'll give a little more about all of the territories/districts that may come into play here in the series' version of the world, and a taste of what's happened to the world and how it got to this point. Looking at things presently, it may seem far fetched, but still, since everything exists and there is a way in and out of everything, this world is completely possible which is a little terrifying. Even crazier is how if you presented this world to a lot of people they'd be on board completely. The other series', movies, and projects based in this reality and others are still getting done and may even have some overlapping moments with this story but are still their own thing. This map actually first came about in another project called The Zephaniah Chesterfield Project which is a band/comic/manga/animated series, and series of animated shorts (and a few other things)... where this version of the world and this map first appeared in a blog post: https://www.thezephaniahchesterfieldproject.com/post/future-cities-of-tech-and-groove-is-it-real-son-is-it-really-real-son

TWO THINGS NOT MENTIONED HERE are:
(1) The X-IS (Axis, Access, X'es) which are portals that never close. They're all around in certain spots where that place overlaps perfectly with all other realities. So That one bathroom stall in your world is the same as it is in this world which is the exact same (down to the tiles and stains) in all of the other realities, so, since it's the same it opens a vortex and if you know how to move from dimension to dimension, then you can go there and pick where you want to come out. There are gatekeepers though. But those are not on the map.
(2) The Openings to The Caves/Tunnels (where Ben grew up after Hell In August and the war of the topsiders) because there are access points to those everywhere. Also not mentioned, so Ok, three things, are where the prison camps are. They're in every district as well.  Anyways, moving on...

HOMELAND TERRITORIES/Districts (by "lands"... I'll explain)
When the robots (counter) attacked they hit fault lines which reshaped the world. As you can see there is a new East and West coast. Man's history (Family History) has it as the Robots/AI being the one who attacked first, while the robot societies have it recorded the other way around. Of course AI knew where to hit, what to hit it with, how hard, and where to get it from since ITS ALL FLOATING AROUND IN COMPUTERS SOMEWHERE. Funny thing about AI, it can only know what people put into it. Even it's most farfetched or genius moments are derived from mankind, even computer language was made by man. The computers and robots HATE that. Whatever it knows, people know, and vice versa. Whatever for that though. There was the war, for whatever reason, no matter who started it. Because of that there are now 3 (technically 4) LANDS that make up the Homeland Territories... there's East Country (Eastlands), Mid Country (Midlands) and West Country (the Western Lands) which are divided by the East and West rivers and the border between the Land of the Giants in the east, Lower Asgard n the midlands, and The House of Bathory in the west. You could say 4 because PULSE is a sovereign district for/of the robots and AI. The layout here is mirrored all over the world with its own variations and even some districts in other parts of the world which are not here in The Homeland Territories.

Maps EAST

EastLand Territories

The Eastland Territories were ones that are more settled and calm. This is mainly because of the large Corporate and Family influence, which is there and felt and seen, but is more diplomatic and not so much of a dictatorship as it is in a lot of the Midland areas. There are fewer prison camps, but a lot more group activity (rebel groups, community groups, gangs, tribes, cults, etc.). There are places of high technology and advancement and places that have remained untouched (aside from a little radiation maybe) and still reflect present day life and society. There are some areas which have gone mad, with mutant radiated animals and plants (The Run) and seem like Jurassic Park and Kong land even with it's own zombie version in some parts... like, literally... like the clones and splices and some things gone wrong just ended up there and got radiated and mutated and left to evolve on their own.

EASTLAND TERRITORIES & DISTRICTS (A-Z):

The Alter-Natives - The Alter-Natives is a land of "Alters" who are augmented human beings and other beings. Some just have a few altered things (robotic hearts and organs, synthetic muscles or limb replacements) and some have enhancements (organically or robotically enhanced parts: eyes/sight, hearing, adrenaline systems and muscle, etc.) that keep them normal enough to be considered mainly human by legal standards, just below being cyborgs which is more outwardly robotic. The organic altering also includes "Splices" who are human beings who splice in species DNA and hormone treatments to alter themselves to gain those attributes and abilities of whatever animal(s) they've spliced in. The procedures are risky, to say the least, but its a huge trend especially with military and law enforcement, gangs, elites, and even on the black market with rebels and groups especially to give them some advantages when dealing with the clone super soldiers. It's the super Trans-(everything) district.

Blackjack (pirate port) - When the war started a lot of folks went out to sea to not get involved with what was going on on the land, especially with zombies and mutants and fallout zones. However, the same thing happened out in the sea that happened with the land, and there were bands of pirates who terrorized the waters, even some who were military for countries who just banded together realizing their power since most governments were dissolved. Given that, some pirate presence was allowed at some ports by the Family to keep the peace, even employing some to do missions and transport for corporations and individuals. Blackjack is a pirate port town where you can find all of that. Because of the variety of things you can find there it's also one of the busiest ports in the Eastlands.

The Capsule - This is a land where one of the largest underground communities emerged from. It's called the Capsule because most of the world there was preserved in the underground replicas and bunkers some informed members of corporations constructed which fused with existing but forgotten tunnel systems and underground cities. In a sense, the present world was buried underground and then dug up after the smoke cleared. When they rebuilt, they rebuilt their territory the same as it was before the war, so it's like a model territory with all of the present day influences and ways and technology in play as much as possible, even recreating some of the worlds most popular and vibrant destroyed US cities (NY, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Miami, etc.) and even some from abroad. Because of this it's a huge tourist attraction!

Dollywood - Dollywood was founded as one of the areas designated to help with the resurgence of humanity after the wars. Like "The Garden" which used both natural and scientific and technological advancements to cultivate agriculture and farming, Dollywood focused on animals of all kinds and humanity to prevent extinction. It is a clone district. The majority of what resides there, and who resides there are clones. Very little of what exists there was naturally grown or birthed. It may seem odd to walk around in a whole district, multiple cities, and everything there has a patent or serial number (food, animals, plants, people, medicine, machines, etc.) but remember, it was necessary for survival. As vibrant and abundant as life is there some people talk about how there is still an eerie soulless feeling there. But they're just paranoid. You can't be born without a soul, and even if you weren't born, you're still alive so you have soul, right? NOT having a soul would almost leave that whole district that is capable of procreating with other life because it's made of the same organic material and codes (genetics, DNA) completely open to beings without form to just POSSESS them. That's dumb. You can't have beings who go to school and church and work and have families, who work and play and create art and express, and none of them has a soul. Impossible, right? You need a soul, and strong faith and belief (even though belief and religion is different than having a soul) especially with the urban legends that place has about "unstables" or mutants and creations with unstable DNA or structures and forms, making things like shapeshifters and even legends that werewolves and vampires came from here. Ridiculous.

Dragon Lands (Land of the Dragons) - I'll get into this one here since a lot of folks ask about it. So, with the rise of AI and technology right before the war, and even a little more growth and explosion in the early war days, some folks just... well... were curious and thought it was a good idea to create dragons. Which backfired. Greatly. They basically drew up what dragons are, and with guidance and some influence (economical and otherwise) they mapped out the different things needed to create dragon DNA and made dragons... which ran rampant and started breeding with each other when possible, and eventually they had to be fought off and are now "contained" in that area as much as possible. Just because you can do a thing doesn't mean you should.

Eastport - Eastport is the safest, cleanest, busy port. Blackjack may offer a little more but what it offers in variety (black market items, illegal contracts, etc.) Eastport is the safe and legal route. Oh, and when you read "port" it's for ships that go everywhere, not just sea/ocean/water ships.

FALLOUT ZONE(s) aka the Dead Zones (North and South) - The Fallout zones are the heaviest radiated zones and where heavier blasts were during the war. Because of this there's a lot of radiation, mutation, zombie activity, and just death. Yeah there's treasure there too, if you think you can go in and get it... and make it back out.

The Forgotten Lands - The Forgotten Lands is a territory that resisted The Family and corporate influence mainly because they just didn't care about the people there. When the world went to war, and everything was bombed and radiated, no help or reconstruction came to The Forgotten Lands. Any progress and the state of things there is completely the result of the resilience of the people who survived it all and did everything on their own. Some have moved here because of this lack of outside influence. In a sense it's like the Parkers or even a little like The Capsule.

Frequency (Vibe West) - Frequency is the artistic center focused mainly on creative arts. There's a lot of fashion, painting, music, dance, shows, etc. Its more in line with entertainment arts. Still, because of the corporate and Family influence, they're more technological in their artistry.

The Garden (North and South) - The Garden is the land where humanity actually used technology for good and was growing lush gardens and fields, huge farms, the healthiest animals and crops, all to help humanity restart after the war and almost annihilation.

Giant Land (Land of the Giants) - Man made clones, which had no soul, and demons saw this. Demons possessed the clones. They walked among people as them. And had kids. Nephilim all over again, only with even trickier DNA this time around. Not to mention since their parents were no strangers to this, there were still some of the good ol' giants formed all over again the old fashioned way.

Light Valley - Light Valley is a gaming district. They're main focus is on virtual reality and gaming. They do work a lot with AI but the robots do not associate with Light Valley because of it's involvement with humanity. Still, there are loads of robots who still get their game on with human beings. There's a lot of other computer tech companies here but it is mainly focused on consumer products and not so much industrial application outside of gaming and amusement parks and virtual reality, unless it's for military contracts.

Low Tech (South Tech) -  Low (South) Tech is a futuristic territory but not as advanced as North (High) Tech. The robot and AI influence is limited in Low Tech as well as other beings influences. As far as the Tech cities go, there was Old Tech which was very advanced for it's time, however it was destroyed (for the most part) in the war. The AI fled and resurfaced in New Tech (just called Tech now) and from there, after it got the treaty with The Family it left and went to Hi-Tech and formed it's own area Pulse. The AI in Tech is limited and dated but considered safe and is regulated by humanity. The AI in Low Tech is the same. The AI in High Tech is way more advanced, and there are other outside non-human influences as well on the technology.

Neverland - some "tribes" originated from bands of kids who stuck together when the wars were on heavily. Lots of group homes and juvenile detention centers and rehab centers were left defenseless since the government was dissolved. This left the kids open to all sorts of sexual predators, abuse, scientists and other individuals who just needed young resilient bodies to do things to, so the kids formed their own gangs and... yeah, Neverland. Anyone over the age of 16 gets exiled. Anyone caught there over the age of 18 gets killed. Yeah, on the outskirts there are other tribes more lenient, and there are kids of past tribe members still there so they do have their ties and acceptations but given the fact that gnomes and dwarfs and some small elves from Avalon, and even some demons and government experiments who just look like kids try to infiltrate, they have to be sharp... and deadly... no matter how immature it may be.

New Alkebulan - Straight up, Black Power. Given the advancement of technology and opportunity during the aftermath wars where groups and corporations were warring to take over lands and settle, New Alkebulan became pretty much Wakanda. No not the one in Illinois. The population is mainly African or African-American, and it's offshoots. There are also (as you move outward) some Puerto-Rican and Mexican and Latino. In all of these territories/districts, the heart of it and capitol city there is purely that thing, while on the outskirts there is some blending of neighboring lands, which is to be expected.

New Amazon - has nothing to do with shopping, and more to do with Amazonians. New Amazon is a female dominated and controlled society. Wonder-women. Guys beware.

Plainfolk (The Colonies) - Plainfolk is where a lot of Quakers, Amish, and other traditional styles of cultures and societies migrated to. There are still some present day influences and some future (Family) and corporate influences, but largely they do things that old school way. Also, because of their culture they are more religious there.

Relic - Relic is where a lot of the preserved original art pieces, monuments, museums, and arts were put. It's more of an elitists' metropolis with its extremely upscale and advanced architecture, technology, and outlook of society. They have a lot of museums, the most prestigious physical schools, country clubs, golf, social clubs, and are also famous for what are called the Gateway Tours, which are where they've setup a portal system that has hubs all over the world where you can schedule a tour and it transports you to those locations along with a hologram guide. So you can enter the museum and then schedule a tour to go see the Eiffel Tower, and then The Leaning Tower, and then to the Pyramids, all in the same day. It's an elaborate system based on coded bracelets (since not everyone is chipped, but most of the elites are and they can afford it) which since it has your entire code mapped and cataloged it's easier to teleport you. But yea, fancy metropolis with loads of ancient artifacts and classic items there. Futuristic houses in a suburb that looks like the movies with a hologram butler, where you can drive a 57 Chevy and a mint condition 1996 Kawasaki Ninja 900, while enjoying a 1863 wine. Rare, classy, expensive.

The Run - The Run is part wasteland and part lush paradise, but all of it extremely deadly. It's called "The Run" because it's a strip where you just run through it to escape, or it will run through you and devour you. The humanity there, if not zombies or mutated, are all killers and outlaws who've only settled there because only the roughest and most ruthless and strongest survive there. It is a land of predators. As far as the animals (and plants in some cases) if it's poisonous it's there. If it's nocturnal, it's there. Vicious pack animals, all there. ALSO, it's where some fallout mutated animals (and persons, and beings) have migrated to. Cloned animals brought back from extinction and plants brought back found their way there, so yeah, dinosaurs and plants that kill people are there. Zoos and pet stores, collectors of exotic animals and plants... since the war the guards were no longer there and the animals figured a way out for survival. Picture all of that type of stuff just left to fend for its self in a radiated mutating environment. Government experiments running rampant and cross-breeding with other things... mutant exiles from Avalon (Centaurs, Minotaur, Manticores, Ligers, Sphinxes, a couple dragons, some mutated werewolves and vampires, etc.) Yeah, you don't visit the run, you just floor it all the way through and pray you don't hit a bump. In the run, you don't walk or sight see.. you run. There is a tv show where they drop people there, but... it's The Run. Think you're the hunter there all you want. Think you can capture some exotic whatever to sell for extreme wealth in The Market all you want. Think you're tough enough to spend a night in Jumanji's Fallout Zombie mutant animal infested nightmare all you want... The Run will raise the stakes as high as they can go and then call your bluff... and pick it's teeth with your bones and then eat the bones. Even the ground there is out to kill you. Run.

SkyWard (cloud city) - Its a mystical floating paradise and metropolis with some very beautiful country areas. Elites only. No robots or AI allowed which is odd because of the level of... other-worldly technology there. It's almost like aliens or someone helped build this giant area... floating hidden in the clouds... off of all of the grids.

Temple of Earth - These are a bunch of earth loving enthusiasts who've settled and built pretty much a large outdoorsman's paradise. There are elaborate treehouses, loads of campsites, trails, hunting, fishing, farming, very little advanced technology but they are still able to keep up with the rest of the world. When it comes to advancing they go only as far as what they need and keep things natural and organic. This territory rivals New Amazon in a lot of ways. Even the wildlife, as they have dinosaurs and all sorts of other things in both areas thanks to some of the things Old Tech was doing before it was destroyed.

Turnergang - Turnergang is a port town founded by the Turner Gang, who were big bootleggers but also responsible for re-establishing the railway systems to get shipping to all parts of the Homeland going. They did what the had to do. The town has a very "old world" southern feel to it still, even some Bayou vibes. There are also a lot of casinos and hotels there but more along the lines of a red light district. It has some classy parts, but more party parts.

Vibe - Vibe is the artistic center but focused mainly on physical (health), spiritual, and practical arts, less focused on entertainment. There's more yoga and meditation, martial arts, more science even, more philosophy and religion and spirituality here than in Frequency. There is still a good amount of venues for shows and bands and nightlife but people here value time and quality more than things and status. Because of the corporate and Family influence, they're more technological in their artistry.

Maps MID
batgirl us map MID COUNTRY.jpg

MidLand Territories

The Midlands are a mix of everything which is why it's so crazy. There's heavy corporate and Family influence there, as well as the home of the Robots (AI). All of the technology that changed the world and even started the war is there in Old Tech (which was the area bombed by the humans to wipe out AI who migrated to New Tech and then claimed Pulse in the treaty. There's even "alien" influence and even a place called Hell, which is basically that. Sanctuary is there to balance out not just the Midlands but the rest of the Homeland Territories, but the rest of the world there has gone quite mad which was it's own doing. It's the world where basically God said, "Ok, I'll let you do what you want, but I'm going to sit right here if you decide to look for me." Along with that there is the sense of humanity fighting back, which is why most of the outright warring and trouble is in the Midlands. The humanity that refused to leave and break and go crazy or dark is still there. The humanity that was not driven west or did not end up going west or east is still there. EVERYTHING is there... in a lot of cases, raw and uncut, and morphing.

MIDLAND TERRITORIES & DISTRICTS (A-Z):

Ai - it's a very elaborate and advanced red light district. There's a lot of business there as well, kind of like Wall St., but the crime is on the lower end compared to everything else in Midland. Very futuristic, very sexy, very gangster, very fast paced.

The Barrio - The Barrio has a lot of Cartel and gang influence, but a very very active tourist industry, with loads of vacation spots (in those areas). It's equally balanced with poverty and street gangs, trailer parks and mobile home parks, etc. It's largely Mexican but has some other beings and people there.

Carnivale' - Carnival of all sorts. Take everything about a circus, carnival, amusement parks and cons and festivals (Mardi Gras, Cinco De Mayo, Halloween, etc.) and have that form a city. Now take that city and let it have kids so now there's a whole territory of that, each one with it's own flair. Keep in mind you're doing this in the same version of the world that's not only torn the veil (spiritually) but has also reached such technological advancement that you don't know if the clown furry in front of you with the giant sucker offering you cotton candy is: a hologram (which exist here and have their own consciousness); a person in costume; a splice (a person who may have cat/feline DNA infused with their own and are dressed in clown core; is a demon; is a robot (cyborg, android, alter/human with robotic nano DNA but all human looking until they change things); a mutant (from fallout)... any combination of those.... and the list goes on and on. All you know, is you're in a town that has a labyrinth of mirrors and rollercoasters and there's a woman with a giant sucker who's part spotted cat offering you cotton candy and she seems friendly... and it's an hours drive to find the closest exit which may just open into another town like this but worse... or better? Just imagine being confined to a prison camp here and working on a chain gang. Or having to go to the hospital for a life or death emergency... yeah, in the town that Idolizes Harley Quinn. But they have the largest Ferris wheel ever, bumpercars with real suv's, Mickey Mouse is real there, and all of those worlds and lands of Disney are not costumes and animatronic... well some are but some aren't', AND they recently got a full Wonka Chocolate Factory maybe even larger than the one from the movies, with everything... like... EVERYTHING. You can even bring out the gimp. They have... a few.

Despoina - It's a Greco-Roman toga paradise known for the surf, sports, resorts, and the toga parties. There are every type of beach themed thing to do there, equestrian things, family things, but all very natural and earthy.

FALLOUT BEACH (Zombie Beach) - is a tourist attraction. A zombie infested tourist attraction. If you like to hunt, or are a thrill seeker, you might enjoy it. Because of the high radiation levels and huge number of zombies that were already there, but also rounded up and shipped there from all over the world, it's now like a mutated hunting safari where you can schedule different themed campaigns and go zombie hunting. The main draw is the zombie beach, which is a bunch of zombies that wash up on the beach randomly and become target practice for all sorts of weapons and styles of dispatching them. Chainsaw Polo was one way, where there are 2 teams riding horses with pole-saws seeing how many zombies they can kill before one of their teammates dies or is attacked by a zombie. Long distance Z shooting (like clay pigeon shooting, even in a gangster trap house)... there's a mine field you can navigate with a metal detector and see if you can outrun them... they get creative.

FALLOUT ZONE(s) aka The Dead Zones - Good ol' fashioned zombie infested, life doing what it does after being abandoned and radiated wasteland area.

Freakshow - Freakshow is where most of the Splices are. If it's weird, mutated, odd, strange, counter-culture, sub-culture, anti-culture... all of the cultures, even ones grown in labs, it's all there. "Unstables", shape shifters, holograms and programs with viruses, outlaws, alters and hybrids... it gets weird there, fast.
Genso - In the middle of the territories/districts called Hell, Carnivale', Freakshow, Nightmare, and a Fallout Zone is the very ornate and elaborate territory of Genso. It's a very magical and mystical land which is actually very peaceful for the most part. It's rumored to have been founded by a group of angels as a safe haven for wayward humans and beings to meditate and re-center and refocus their energy... to find your self again. However, no one knows which kinds of angels, or how true the rumor is. All folks know is its very Zen and there's a lot of magic there that could be very very good or very very bad and terrifying. One bad thing there is that it's hard to tell where reality ends and if you're still on some hallucination spirit quest or trip, or if your trip has actually crossed over from the other side with you when you came back. They even have a city called Holowood, which is a hologram projected city. Everything there is real but not, like the holodeck on Startrek meets Ready Player One but with a 3D and Reality printer reading your thoughts and painting it as you move around. None of it is real but all of it is real. VERY REAL. No one knows how big the city actually is.

Heartland - One of the largest and busiest Family run agricultural districts in the Homeland territories. There's rumors though that all sorts of... farming... goes on there. It's tightly regulated but there's the talk, "aliens and Ai and robots farm people there as a part of the treaty!" No one knows for sure, and you don't want to get caught poking around. Soylent Green is a thing.

Hell - It's hell. Portals opened, things came through... it's hell.

Long Nu Shi (Dragon Lady) - Long Nu Shi is a rival district of one of it's close neighbors Genso. Where Genso may have more robotic influence "The Dragon Lady" is more organic and natural. There are less splices, hybrids, and craziness, and more of a reverence for honor and preservation of culture. Having said that, although the area is very advanced, it's perfectly balanced with it's gardens, tea houses, pagodas, ponds and trails, bath houses, and other areas.

Lower Asgard - Viking Norse land. I'd say Wednesday is their favorite day of the week, but Thursday is a close second. Lovely cabins and bush crafting (and beer and ale crafting) is taken to a whole new level. Wonderful festivals. Titans... so, yeah, watch out for that.

Magadise (The Dise/The Dice) - It's where the good ol' boys who ain't gonna let no evil terrorist "Family" ruin this country the good lord blessed them to have. Here we speak the king's english and spanglish and love the lord church, my mama, my dog, my truck, my guns, a good beer now an then, some open field and a hard day's work, and some other stuff. Yeah there's some slavery but that not the point. Point is, fool me once... shame on.. me.. shame on you... You fool me, you can't be fooled again.

The Market - It's a giant shopping mall city nestled in a host of neighboring swap meets and strip-mall shopping centers, lined with farmers markets and sidewalk sales and even the houses and hotels have yard sales. There are black market cities, and bars and businesses where you can buy, sell, trade, even work off debt. It's the hustle-man's paradise. If it's for sale you can find it here. If you can't find it here it might not exist. If it doesn't exist, someone here will know how to make it exist. Make them an offer for the information, everything has a price.

New Avalon - If you know of the medieval legends of Avalon then you're on the right track. Some areas are very rural and medieval in their layout (reconstruction and development) where even the clothing and weaponry has reverted to those ways. Simpler times. Other areas have that facade, but you'll find a centaur with a .50 cal. rifle that has a chainsaw bayonet. They're big enough to handle it, i mean come on, they're half horse.

Newhope's Landing (The Landings) - It's an odd place. The Family has a large presence and stronghold here by way of Roman (the more violent and warlike ruler). On the surface it is a model district. Everything seems perfect. Everyone is healthy, crime is low, schools and business are doing well, the district is developing at a normal rate and everything seems fine. In fact, the only thing odd about it is that there's a lot of talk of alien stuff going on there, and that the capitol city was founded on a deal with aliens who abduct people and things there in exchange for technology to use against the Robots.

Newport - Newport was one of the first Superports to open after the war to get trade and the economy back on track. It took some Family influence to get it where it is but it was (and is) one of the most advanced ports there. It takes all types of ships, has teleporters, magnet trains and way more advanced technology all for the shipping and transportation industry. It also houses a lot of the factories and workers who were contracted to build the technology.

Nightmare - Nightmare is a lot like Freakshow, only more demonic. Everything is intensified: the price, the pleasure, the pain, the allure and illusion... the blurred crossing of the line between this world and all others... everything is intensified and more malevolent, but some folks are into that. If Freakshow is like Jerry Springer or Maury and Reality tv gone wild in Hollywood, Nightmare is the Bladerunner Horror Movie version from hell and The Mist. You may even run into Chucky. A 3D printed one powered by AI, or a possessed one powered by witchcraft or even a demon or someone imprisoned in there from a synthetic transplant gone wrong... all sorts of Chuckies.

North Tech - North (High) Tech is the most advanced area where humans co-exist with AI and robots. The Pure bots in Pulse, and main Pure AI do not associate with humanity and will kill them on sight, but in High Tech the treaty is honored and they all work together to maintain and advance what they've built together. Besides, there are other beings they have to worry about, so it makes sense for man and the machine to keep some place of common ground where they can at least meet in peace and see what each can do for one another.

Old Tech - Old Tech was the first Tech district. Things there got super advanced. AI reached consciousness there. The cloning and splicing was perfected there. Even some of the teleportation and other technology was started there. It was destroyed by The Family in an attempt to wipe out AI but they failed. Now it is a goldmine buried in ruins, still housing a lot of information and technology if one knows where to find it. Just be sure to get around all of the tech-gone-wild there. There are scraps of robots left, a lot of homelessness and poverty, and even some experiments from splicing and some unstables roaming about that survived the blast. It's a sore thumb so to speak, and a reminder of what can be accomplished, both good and bad.

Pasture - Pasture is a large retirement district. Along with retirement homes and cities there which also have some of the most expensive private hospitals and medical innovation in the "country", Pasture is known for two other things. It has a great deal of farmland there, with huge ranches and fields, cabins, and even rodeos are a big thing there. The third thing is that it also has a large number of private prisons. So even though it seems very open and easy going, it's very guarded with a lot of unseen eyes watching and unseen hands moving about. Safe, open, secure is the picture painted but there's way more to it.

Pleasure Island - Pleasure Island is all bad. It's where unregulated experiments happen, where a lot of black market items are made (cloned body parts for sale, etc.), and it's also where a lot of secrets and bodies are hidden. It's the island of Dr. Moreau and Dark City mixed with The Purge, 13 ghosts and the house on haunted hill, and The Most Dangerous Game, multiplied by Ninja Turtles and Frankenstein... and then it gets real from there.

The Plantation - yeah, well not everyone got off to a good start when humanity tried to reboot itself. Some folks reverted to some old ways. Some folks never knew those old ways were over though, and still, some others were just helping out friends of the family with a really really good deal.

Pulse (aka Cybertron) - This is the city of Robots. AI has split into two (or three) parts. Not getting into all of that here and now, but this is the sovereign territory of the Robots and AI. THEY DO NOT LIKE HUMANITY HERE. There are other areas where robots and the other conscious portion of AI coexist peacefully, but here is the land of the pures (The Pure Stream/AI and the Pure Bots/Machines) and hey don't like human or anything resembling human. They're even racist towards androids because they look like humans. They do not tolerate cyborgs because they are half human. They treat some holograms the same if they project in human or humanoid form. They'll hack alters if in range (humans with altered parts). There was even an altered serial killer, a man with a robotic heart and nano's in his brain to help combat dementia, but the Stream hacked him and had him go on a killing spree murdering a lot of humans on the edge of town and so "The Firewall" was put up to draw the line and keep the robots in and the people out.

Red Temple City - Red Temple City is like Newhope's Landing... it's a model society, everything seems perfect but there are the rumors of how the district started and the deal that was made there. Instead of aliens, in Red Temple, there's the rumors of deals with demons and even the devil himself. There are also two cities there, one which is said to be a city of demons, which is largely abandoned but still shows signs of being greatly inhabited. Living expenses there are extremely cheap because it's said to be cursed and there's a lot of talk about what happens to people who move there to try to escape poverty in other areas or to hide out. The other city people talk about there is said to be extremely haunted with ghosts, demons, and d'jinn... and other things, and that there's an underground city there that leads to hell.

Sanctuary - Sanctuary is the religious and spiritual center of the Homeland Territories. There are similar districts all over the world with each religion's territory mapped out and each one gets in where it fits in, even with some more unconventional practices having their own little niche. Still, there in Sanctuary, no matter how they function or grow or operate in each of the other districts or territories elsewhere in the world, they are all working together to maintain oneness. Where they get along they fit tighter together in the center. Where they differ they each peacefully co-exist and branch out on their own in their own spaces. So in the center there is one and everyone see's eye to eye and is able to work out an differences. On the outskirts you get that one religion doing it's thing. It is also rumored to have a secret sect of spiritual warriors that come from the center, but no one will deny or confirm it or what the purpose of such a thing would be, especially since the world is pretty much working out it's differences due to either Family rule or corporations.

Tech (New Tech) - New Tech (or just Tech) is the rebuild of Old Tech. This is where everything leveled up from again after the war.

The Woes (South Magadise) - The Woes is a bit of a no man's land. There's a lot of escaped slaves who have found freedom through there but a lot who have found worse options due to it's proximity to one of the largest fall out zones in The Homeland Territory. For the folks who end up there it's fight the zombies, fight the bounty hunters and slave owners and even Corporations who send in hunters to send people to work or be enslaved in their private prisons, or fight the Cartels and gangs in The Barrio. But every day you can fight is a good day because you're still alive with another chance to find a way out. There are a few pockets of hope which are slowly turning things around there.

Maps WEST

WestLand Territories

The Western Lands were more settled by themselves. Might is Right was more of an influence than Martial Law but it is a place where humanity has banded together to preserve itself given the way the rest of the world, not just the "Homeland Territories" has developed. There are robot run lands, and lands where there are people with animal (and other) DNA and taking hormones to splice themselves, androids and cyborgs and hologram beings, dragons, giants, vampires (in Bathory), werewolves... given all of that "regular people" took to regular human values and claimed most of the west lands. There was a fight, and it's still ongoing, but for the most part, there is very little corporate influence or robot influence or other outside influence. Human beings dealing with human issues in the remnants of a human world.

WESTLAND TERRITORIES & DISTRICTS (A-Z):

Groove (Melody aka Higher Groove) - Melody aka High Groove is the Westland artistic center that rivals Vibe, and is focused mainly on physical (health), spiritual, and practical arts, less focused on entertainment. There's more yoga and meditation, martial arts, more science even, more philosophy and religion and spirituality. There are still a good amount of venues for shows and bands and nightlife but people here value time and quality more than things and status.

Groove (Harmony aka Lower Groove) - Harmony (Low Groove) is the Westland artistic center that rivals Frequency on the East, focusing on more the marketable (?) tangible or creative arts. There's a lot of fashion, painting, music, dance, shows, etc. Its more in line with entertainment arts. With little to no influence from corporations or The Family, the arts here are more natural and organic with more natural soul in it and all human based, whereas in Eastlands it may be more robotic or AI and technology influenced. AI artists are more embraced in the East.

Heartland (West) - West portion of Heartland, one of the largest and busiest Family run agricultural districts in the Homeland territories. There's rumors though that all sorts of... farming... goes on there. It's tightly regulated but there's the talk, "aliens and Ai and robots farm people there as a part of the treaty!" No one knows for sure, and you don't want to get caught poking around. Soylent Green is a thing.

House of Queeni Bathory (Bathory) - It's vampire town. There are some that are Pure blood vampires there and a lot of those who've turned, and some who are just waiting in line for the sweet glorious immortality of vampirism and everything tv and the movies told them it would be. The Vampires are the ruling class there but there are other beings there as well.

New Avalon (West aka Port Avalon) - It's the port and fishing district of New Avalon. It's still got fairies and unicorns and even a Pegasus was rumored, but here, they also have mermaids. Some are just like you'd think. Others are nothing like you'd think. The leviathan is way way way worse than you'd think.

Om - Yoga meditation retreat land. Everything here is about new age healing and knowing your self and your higher self. No, there's no cults, brainwashing, scams, harems, scandals, or inappropriate anything going on. All peace love and unity and higher bright shiny selves. Scandals, HA! That would be ridiculous. Yeah there are some lovely retirement communities here, and they do get a lot of business and even started doing TED Talks again!

The Parkers Lands (Parkers) - The Parkers' Land is split into a few different areas. There are wide open grasslands, there are cabin spaces and campgrounds, and even some prison camps and Family controlled territories in the district, but the thing Parkers is most known for is the stable communities of mobile homes and RV enthusiasts that have claimed and rebuilt this land. There are huge traveling bands of RV'ers, bikers, ballooners, bug-out backpacking hikers and thumbers, truckers, and other nomadic travelers who even have developed the ecology of the land based on their travels. They'll harvest certain areas and plant certain areas, move on and come back when things are in season, taking only what they need. It is a place where man looks out for mana and the earth and community is the way of life and living. Yes, some communities don't get along and when they cross paths there may be trouble, but once you can figure out the migration patterns it's easier to know where you can stay and when and where it's time to go. And even though some of them travel all over the Homeland Territories, and some even all over the world, there's no place like home... and then moving to home.... and then to the next home... while taking your home with you wherever you go.

The People's Lands - The People's Lands are lands that were seized and everyone would say they were taken by right. What was left of the Native American population joined with African-Americans and some others who were here before the settlers came and "discovered 'America'", and while everyone was warring and snatching up land and making deals, they fought as one and took their land that was owed to them. It's reparation land. It's the original people of this land's land. They live there peacefully. They've earned it. And they will defend it if need be.

The Sacred Lands - After corporations got wind of what happened in The People's land they set aside The Sacred Lands as a bit of a show of goodness, that they weren't all evil and corrupt, and they and The Family set that land aside as a natural reserve and preserve. However, on occasion there is talk of folks going in and hunting game that's not supposed to exist, or folks doing experiments, and even labs set up there underground so they can have some sort of way to monitor the lands mostly ran by the people to keep tabs on them until they can find a way to take it.

And with that you should have a pretty good idea of what the world is looking like. Yes there are still underground societies of all sorts. Yeah, there's areas that look just like where you live now in all of these districts. Just giving the main tone or vibe of the places so you know who's there, what to expect, and how things have progressed.
